The Importance of Parental Resilience
June 28, 2022

Parenting can be a challenging and overwhelming experience, especially for those facing economic and social hardships. At the Kingdom Knowledge Foundation, we believe that parental resilience is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and ensuring a brighter future for children.

Our Parental Resilience program is designed to support parents and caregivers in developing the skills and confidence they need to provide a stable and nurturing environment for their children. Through workshops, counseling, and community-building activities, we empower parents to overcome adversity and build a stronger, more resilient family unit.

But why is parental resilience so important? Research has shown that children who grow up in households with high levels of parental stress and anxiety are more likely to experience behavioral and emotional problems, and are at greater risk of falling behind in school. On the other hand, children who grow up in households with high levels of parental resilience are more likely to thrive, both academically and emotionally.

By supporting parents and caregivers, we are ultimately supporting the children who depend on them. Our Parental Resilience program is just one way we are working to create a brighter future for families in our community.

At the Kingdom Knowledge Foundation, we believe that every child deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances. That's why we offer a range of academic support programs, from tutoring and homework help to literacy training and college preparation. But what kind of impact do these programs really have on the lives of our children? We sat down with a few of our students to talk about how our academic support programs have helped them succeed.

At the Kingdom Knowledge Foundation, we are grateful for the dedication and passion of our volunteers. Without them, we wouldn't be able to provide the level of support and service that we do to families in need. One of our volunteers, Sarah, has been with us for over a year. She started out helping with our after-school program, and soon became a regular fixture in the lives of our children. We sat down with Sarah to talk about why she is so passionate about our mission, and what she gets out of volunteering with us.
